Description
This old tattered sign is a relic from the establishment of the Pan Am oil company founded in 1916 following a big strike in Mexico. Pan AM sold foreign properties to Standard Oil of New Jersey in 1932 and remaining United States properties were merged with Standard Oil Of Indiana to become AMOCO in 1954. A closeup view of this sign will reveal the many attacks it has survived.
