Description
A pine cone is cradel by leaf hanging over moving stream at Perrine Pond at Cheesequake State Park in Old Bridge, New Jersey. Cheesequake park is located at the intersection of Central and Southern New Jersey. The land was purchased in 1937 by the State Of New Jersey for outdoor recreation and is operated by the New Jersey Division of Parks and Forestry. Then name “Cheesequake’ is derived from the Lenape Native American word Cheseh-oh-be meaning “upland”. The park consists of a saltwater and freshwater mash in an estuary located at the mouth of Cheesequake Creek and Raritan bay. The park also includes a hardwood forest.
