Scratchy Old 78rpm...Made to Look like a Wining Photograph!

Gary Slawsky replied:

Thanks Robert. Check bottom left corner for speed settings and notice that in addition to 33 rpm records this set plays 8 rpm speech records that were made for the blind.

Artist's Description

A 1950s era record player that has the capability to play vinly records at 8 RPM (see speed selector at bottomm left corner). This slow speed was all that was needed to play back voice recordings of newspaper and magazine articles that were recorded for the blind.

About Gary Slawsky

Gary Slawsky

For the past thirty years I have been exploring the many ways photography can be creatively used to record the beauty and interesting qualities of our world. Macro and landscape constitute the largest bodies of my work. Most of all I enjoy bringing out unique interpretations of common objects and scenes that might be missed by casual observation.
