I was captivated by the different shapes and designs that changing tides created from beach sand in this scene at Sandy Hook, New Jersey, part of the Gateway National Recreation Area of the United states National Park Service.
For the past thirty years I have been exploring the many ways photography can be creatively used to record the beauty and interesting qualities of our world. Macro and landscape constitute the largest bodies of my work. Most of all I enjoy bringing out unique interpretations of common objects and scenes that might be missed by casual observation. I can see why you were captivated by the sight, Gary. It's interesting to sort of flip the scene in one's mind from down on the earth with it, as here in reality, and from far above, from a plane, as a topographic map sort of image. Either way, it engages the viewer. This is a pod choice for me today in the Best of Minimalism group.
