Artist's Description
Clouds and their reflections serve as a beautiful setting to be surrounded by the estuary marshland at Cheesequake Park. Cheesequake Park is located at the intersection of central and southern New Jersey. The land was purchased in 1937 by the State Of New Jersey for outdoor recreation and is operated by the New Jersey Division of Parks and Forestry. The name “Cheesecake” is derived from the Lenape Native American word Cheseh-oh-be meaning “upland”. The park consists of saltwater and freshwater marshes in an estuary located at the mouth of Cheesecake Creek and Rarity bay. The park also includes a hardwood forest.
About Gary Slawsky
For the past thirty years I have been exploring the many ways photography can be creatively used to record the beauty and interesting qualities of our world. Macro and landscape constitute the largest bodies of my work. Most of all I enjoy bringing out unique interpretations of common objects and scenes that might be missed by casual observation. All images are GMS Photography LLC and cannot be copied, displayed, downloaded modified or distributed without written permission of Gary M Slawsky.
